A retired Crime Scene Investigator, Cal turned his grisly photos into grizzly ones by turning his photography skills from forensics to wildlife and nature.
Cal says "Although I photograph a wide range of subjects, I've developed a great interest and passion for photographing bears."
Some of his grizzly bear images have been displayed at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming and featured on the front cover of the Jackson Hole Magazine summer/fall 2008 with an accompanying article "Saga of Bear 399" a well known female grizzly bear that raised her three cubs in an area visible to the public.
The Internationally known online magazine Wildlife Art Journal has also published a story about Cal and his experience capturing the now Iconic photo of Bear 399 and her Cubs.
Cal is active with his photography by concentrating his efforts in wildlife, nature and western type themes.

My personal preference for displaying wildlife photography are photos shot "in the wild".
Unless otherwise stated, my wildlife photos are of free roaming, wild animals.
